With the introduction of medication management and falls indicators to the NACMQIP our data scientist, Filip Reierson, investigated the historic data for similar indicators in the MOA QI program. We found evidence that antipsychotic medication use increased the risk of falls in residential aged care services. It is encouraging to demonstrate that appropriate and prudent use of medication can reduce falls risk.
